On Friday the Trust successfully held the official handover ceremony for a donation of 4 Minibuses and 5Multipurpose Sports Courts (combi-courts) with a combined value of R4.1Million!
These donations were made to Graaslagte, Kruisfontein, and Mzingisi Primary Schools. The exciting event was graced by officials from the Department of Education led by District Director. Nicolaas De Bruyn; officials from the Departments of Sport, Recreation, Arts and Culture led by District Director Mr. Phumza Mfenyane; the KWFCDT Trustees and team led by Chairperson Motlalepule Nathane - Taulela and General Manager, Prince Matonsi; staff and students from the beneficiary schools, community members, partners and other stakeholders.
Mr. De Bruyn thanked KWFCDT for its work in the local communities, pointing out that the Trust has done more than its duty. In his address, he went on to encourage schools to take care of the donations so they can benefit future generations.
Mr. Mfenyane emphasised the critical role sport plays in bringing people together and committed to partnering with the DoE and the KWFCDT to further support local sport and ensure community ownership of the assets donated. It was heartwarming to see how thrilled the students were to see their school names on the minibuses for the first time! The event closed with exciting Netball and Tennis games at the brand-new combi-court at Kruisfontein Primary School followers.
