Dream and vision do come true!! We desperately knocked at so many doors in attempt to get Fire ball fire extinguishers out in our fire risk and hot spot areas around Kouga. We were not successful for years. Unless you are not part of what is happening when these fires destroy people's belongings or you are not there when someone loose a family member in these times, one can have a different understanding and picture.
That can make us judge from two different perspectives. For yesterday we want to extend a very special thanks to AMANDLA OMOYA TRUST for making this dream and vision come true by funding MASIKHATHALELANENI NPC for the fire extinguishers project. The 30 thirty fireball fire extinguishers that is set out in our communities in strategic points are just the beginning. We would like to take hands with stakeholders and work around preventative measures instead of crying and sharing in pain. One shack that burns down and one life lost are too many.
I would like to thank the Sarah Baartman District Municipality Mayor Cllr Deon de Vos for his availability to be part of this very special historical moment in Kouga. A special thanks to Cllr Maree who were attending the function representing the Mayor of Kouga Municipality. She and Mayor de Vos motivated us as a team. We had two more Cllrs who were present. Cllrs are representing those who believed that they are the right person to serve them in need.
We thank community volunteers who are based on the ground to respond for setting themselves available to work with us in helping those who are in need. A very special thanks to our two community radio stations Kouga FM and Oasis FM who represented media and make sure that they do their part as media. Thanks to Correctional Services, Sarah Baartman West Fire presented by Mr. V. Cunningham who shared this moment with us. Win your ward fire ball donated by Top Saver Supermarket in Jeffreys Bay by identifying two Cllrs who were attending the function, and we didn't mention their names write in comments please and your ward.
